Here are my cutie patooties!
The flame "cape" on the back was easier to see when he held it out and "rocketed" around.
Here are my cutie patooties!
Well, as this week has been the week of crafts, here is my ultimate craft: A Rocket! Inspired by Wallace and Gromit's orange rocket...
My blogging definitely fell off last week as I spent the majority of my free time crafting. I had a lot of projects backed up and it was time to finish!
My sister sent me this no-bake recipe for Energy Bites (Dexter renamed it "snack balls") which she found on Pinterest (my newest addiction!). We whipped these up after nap one day last week.
There are millions of orphans in the world–163 million, I heard yesterday at the Together for Adoption Conference.
What can I do? That is exactly the right question to ask–twice.
First time: What can I do–what can just one person do? That’s the normal feeling we have when we learn about such a widespread, huge pain that seems to need millions of people working to make a dent. The only problem with that question is if it expresses hopelessness–”I’m just one person, so I can’t do anything.” To that, I say, If God had meant for me to be a committee, he wouldn’t have made me just one person.
Second time: What can I do? God did make me just one person, so how does he want to work through me? What gifts did he give me that he can use to make a difference for orphans?
Maxwell was dedicated this last Sunday. It was an honor to stand before the church and commit to raise Maxwell with open hands. That is something our pastor asks each parent who comes to dedicate their child, will Sander and I hold our expectations and plans for Maxwell and his very life with open hands? So, to Maxwell's life! May it be full of love, full of joy, and full of meaning!
It's that time of year again! Yes, it was in the 80's and my sweater got a tad warm by the end of our time at the patch, but it was worth it!
This past Saturday I read on facebook how some of my friends were going to various festivals around Houston and thought, "hey, Dexter is old enough now, we should go to a few this fall too. Hey, why not even go to one today?"
Since it was 4pm, we needed someplace close. The closest festival was Katy's Rice Festival. We packed up the boys, forgot to stop for cash (that's ok, I just stood for 20min outside the festival while Sander went in to find an ATM...), and away we went. It was really fun to do something spontaneous and Dexter had a wonderful time.
My sister took some adorable pictures of Maxwell when he was just 2 weeks old. I really, really love how these turned out!
Helping daddy fix the jeep!
Dexter sat strapped into the back seat as happy as could be (squirt bottle in hand) while Sander tinkered with the jeep yesterday. So cute!
Thanks Phil and Ted for a fabulous double stroller. Or, should I say thanks craigslist for helping me find one I could afford. Maxwell loves the bassinet underneath as it sways side to side as I walk. I can also see his face as I walk, which is great. He isn't just tucked away out of site. Dexter likes it too as the seat attachment for the top is higher than normal.
And can I just add how thankful I am for cooler weather. Dexter needs to be out at the park so much more than we could go in this heat.
I'm guest blogging today over at A Bit of Sunshine as part of her birthday blog party. I've posted a fun diy centerpiece project AND a Noonday Collection giveaway.
Check it out!
Back from his 20 hour drive from Durango..CJ jeep in tow.
Being the bad mommy, I still haven't taken Maxwell's official 2 month picture yet. I plan to tomorrow when I have a few reinforcements to help organize the kids.
Here are a few pictures I have taken. Unlike Dexter who had about 3000 pictures of taken of himself by this point, Maxwell has just a few less...
The Fall line is here...and so is my Noonday Collection website!
