I'm crafting and sewing again

My dear friend Marisa has inspired me to sew again. She is making the most amazing bib necklaces and selling them here, on etsy. Such a great price and they are fabulously made by hand.

So, here is the story on the outfit, as I know you are dying to know:

I thought that I would go and buy a new spring outfit for my friend's wedding (which is tomorrow) and have been shopping/looking online for several weeks. Nothing has been just what I had in mind. Well, really I think I have the bug to design and sew again. When that happens I don't want to buy anything because I know if I make it myself it will be just what I want. So, I decided since I don't have time to make something for the wedding, I can liven up what I already have. See below for the brooch I made out of scraps of raw silk I just had on hand (anyone else have piles of unused fabric lying around, or is that just me?). The beads come from old earrings. I may add more, but I didn't want to overdo it with the crazy pattern on the dress.
