Expanding Vocabulary

Friday, April 1

Dexter has been potty training, to an extent. I haven't changed a poopy diaper in about 4 weeks due to him pooping in his potty each day at home for me. Now, when he is at Mother's Day Out, the park, or the church nursery, he doesn't seem to notice and just makes use of his diaper. But we have some success and I am happy to not have to change a dirty diaper.

Well, it seems as if he is becoming aware of more and more. He was reading "on his own" an older version of Richard Scarry's book, Early Words. He started to say "poo poo", so I of course rush over ready to get him to the potty. But this time he doesn't want to go with me, he just points at the page. What does he point to, you ask? Oh yes, Dexter thought the tail was poo poo. I couldn't stop laughing! I think it is hilarious how he is taking two things he is aware of in different areas and putting them together. I can't wait to see what else he observes in the near future!
