Is That a Pirate, Mommy?

Thursday, November 10

Well, perhaps we have watched too much Veggie Tales recently, or maybe Dexter is entering that age of, "Kids say the darnedest things," but yesterday was a doozy!  We went to HEB after dinner (not our usual time, but after being out of town, we really had nothing to eat), and boy was I glad Sander was there.  We were making our way down the aisles when all of a sudden Dexter starts yelling, with a look of pure glee on his face, "THAT'S A PIRATE IN HERE! THAT'S A PIRATE IN HERE!"  Thankfully, Sander picked him up quickly and took our son, who was still yelling in glee, to the next aisle.  The "pirate" in question, thankfully was far enough up the aisle he didn't realize what Dexter was saying.

Yes, the man mistakenly called a pirate did have a head scarf and facial hair, but he also had a whoooole lot of tattoos - not quite what you see on the Veggie Tale version of a pirate.

Dexter kept talking about the "pirate" all night.  I think he was just so excited to finally see one in person.

Excellent! Love it. That is kind of like when Sander was about 3 and he annouced loudly in the check out lane at Tom Thumb, as he pointed to the woman in front of us : " She is a woman because she has no penis!" He was very proud of himself :-)
Love you guys,
Tootsie
