Dexter's a Goldfish!

In mid-June, Dexter passed his first swim class as a guppy! He has been going to Houston Swim Club and we had quite the two weeks.  This was the first time that Dexter was really adamant he would not participate.  He's usually the first to jump in to whatever is going on!

Each day he would say how much he didn't want to go and that he didn't want to get his head wet, but then, after the class he would beam and say how much fun he had.  Telling my crying child that they must go into swim class day after day was so hard, but he was so proud when he was done!  Dexter and I both learned a lot -- I as a mom learned what I could say to encourage and empower him, and Dexter is well on his way to swimming by himself!
