The smile
Saturday, June 27
My last couple of posts have been a bit down. I still feel a little sad that we all have to deal with the hardships of reflux, but I would like to pass on some of the brighter moments of the last few weeks.
No, Dexter isn't anywhere near sleeping through the night, but Monday he did sleep from 9:30pm-2:30am! It was wonderful. Last night he slept from 11pm-3am. The rest of the time he only goes 3 hours from one feeding to the next, and may or may not sleep, but he did sleep longer those two times...it is possible! The other good news is he mostly falls asleep after eating at night. During the day he will refuse to sleep, but at least we are both getting a little more sleep at night. Yippie!
He is also progressing along and has begun to smile this week! Dexter really and truly smiled at Sander and I for the first time Monday. Since he has really responded to our voices and has even turned and smiled a couple of times when he hears us. What a wonderful change! For me it is such an encouragement as week after week he only screamed - it takes its toll on your emotions for sure. To see him smile and respond positivly when he sees/hears me is just a joy. I can't wait to see more of this!
Check out our album above for updated pictures. I usually update the picture albums more than I post here.
Doesn't he look funny! These are taken mid-smile. I love it...hahaha

Boy, can I relate!!!
And don't you love the fact that God brings those smiles when you don't think you can take the screaming anymore?
