Ok, can I tell you how EXCITED I am about these shoes!?!?!
First, aren't they so cute? They look comfy and like they are out of an Anthropologie magazine. Plus...here is the best part...the straps are interchangeable!!! Yes, that means I can sew my own straps to match anything I own.
Ok, so they are cute, look comfy, but what else...
These shoes are made by women in Uganda who are trying to raise enough money to attend university. Here is what their website says:
Sseko Designs is a not-just-for-profit enterprise that recognizes the power of business and responsible consumerism to support sustainable economic development, which in turn affects a country's educational, justice, and health care systems. The goal of Sseko Designs is two-fold: provide university tuition for these promising young women through a sustainable monthly income, while also contributing to the overall economic development of Uganda. So, go buy a pair today. I'll get mine in 7-10 days and I will be sure and let you know how they fit, and how easy they are to tie (their are infinite ways to tie them...check out this site for "how-to" videos)
