Reality

This picture is slightly staged...but only slightly!  I have been reading a blog series entitled "a day in the life".  It is a series of posts by bloggers showing what their day to day life really consists of.  Now, I don't think my blog sugar coats things (not even the satan sandwiches!) or has the facade created by splendid photos and tutorials that the real blogs have, but I thought this was a great picture to show what life was like, at least this week.

That's Dexter trying to use his potty.  Right next to the table.  He brought it over to me, absolutely insisting that mommy help him.  Then, he decided to grab my skirt and pull on it as I tried to get Maxwell's medicine ready.  Oh boy...

I know I will look back and just remember the sweet times; the kisses goodbye, the spontaneous running around in circles, the complete joy in being given a chocolate chip cookie and the sweet "thank you, mommy" that resulted...un-prompted, mind you.

But some days need a little sugar coating...
