Yard Work...again

Saturday, February 25

Sander and I seem to have a knack for finding homes in serious need of yard repair.  We made a huge blogging mistake this week by NOT taking before pictures of our yard.  I was running out the door to take Dexter to school and forgot to remind Sander, and he thought I had taken the pictures the day before.  *sigh*

However, if you had been to our house anytime in the last 6 months you would have seen the 5ft high dandelions that were now rotting after a frost, the 10-12ft tall weed shrubs that lined our back fence, (not sure what they were, but they grew from nothing to that high over the summer and through the drought), and the vines that were wrapped around everything.

The picture above and the one below are the "after" shots.  It's a clear and open area for Dexter to run around in (he wouldn't go in the ...um....grass/weed/forest...), and has the potential to actually grow real grass this spring.  Sander and his dad are working on getting the sprinkler system up and running...fingers crossed that works!  I don't really see myself braving the mosquito's and 100+ degree heat to move a hose and sprinkler around this yard all summer should their efforts fail.

Hopefully these will just be before pictures of a glorious yard next year!

And this is the semi-before picture of the shed.  It was stuccoed inside like our den used to be and had fully sealed windows and doors.  Unfortunately, it was sealed up and not climate controlled for too long by the previous owner...and it flooded at some point...o the stucco was molded and pretty much black all over.  Sander bought a $50 respirator and has been tearing it off and getting it ready to be a tool shed.  Should free up room in the garage for cars soon and bee a nice man space for him.

If you have time, we would love to get the name & number of the people who did the yard clean up. It would be nice to have our side of the fence clean for Caleb to explore this spring. If you would recommend them please text me. Thanks!
