Pioneer Woman: Cinnamon Rolls

Wednesday, December 8

Ok, so I just made the Pioneer Woman's cinnamon roll recipe. I made it last time and liked them ok, but really just loved how simple (relatively) they were. This time I decided to half the recipe and make a few changes. One, I used half the amount of butter. I used the same amount on the rolls themselves, but skipped the "pour tons of butter into the pan before you put the rolls in" and opted for just a light greasing. The other change I made was in the maple flavoring. They didn't have it at HEB (!?!) so I just added about 2Tbl maple syrup(that would be 4Tbl for a full recipe) and cut back on the milk in the icing. I also used instant espresso instead of the coffee.

OH MY GOSH...I should have made the whole batch. I am SO MAD at myself right now because these are some of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. Now I have to show restraint if I am going to have enough for the events this week...

Thank you sweet, dear, magnificent Pioneer Woman for your wonderful recipe. Oh how I love thee!

Yea for Pioneer Woman! I don't know that I would have ever thought that I could make such a yummy treat all by myself! I made these for Thanksgiving morning and was nervous b/c I forgot to butter the pans. However, I am guessing that the obscene amounts of butter inside the rolls compensated and they came out fantastic! What a treat... and I have 3 more pans in the freezer for a rainy day:)

You made a great mistake! They are so much easier than I thought too. I have to say I am a bit jealous that you have 3 more pans in the freezer...
